How to map left click to keyboard F1 Linux?
I wonder how to do it.
AFAIK, xinput
is to map mice only.
What about mapping mouse button to a keyboard key ?
I would like the same behavior (key pressed) to be able to drag and drop.
Maybe xmodmap
or xdotool
can do this ?
xmodmap -e "F1 = button1
but not the expected behavior, and error :
$ xmodmap -e "F1 = button 1"
xmodmap: unknown command on line commandline:1
xmodmap: 1 error encountered, aborting.
With xdotool:
xdotool click 1
in my keyboard shortcuts preferences (Cinnamon desktop), this solution doesn't handle key press to drag and drop
