Cannot rename file in sftp server (No such file or directory)
I'm connecting my server using sftp from local pc, i want to move a file in a folder on my server by using rename. But i get an error "No such file or directory" although i set the permission of the file as 777. Below is my command :
sftp user@ipAddress
cd /home/otherUser/folder_A
rename * /home/otherUser/Done
Then i got the error "No such file or directory". Can someone tell me which part that i did wrong? Thanks for your help.

Welcome to U/L! That's not howrename
works. Have a look atman rename
for more information. (I think Ubuntu ships the Larry Wall version ofrename
.) If you still have a question, you'll need to be more specific. What are the files in that directory? What would you like them to be renamed to?
