SSH pubkey auth followed by set password prompt
My operating system is hardened Gentoo and CentOS 7 where I want to accomplish this.
I want to have it so users can log in with their pubkey with no password set by passwd
after useradd
. I think if an account has no password set, it is disabled. I want it so SSH and the system ignore this, and users can log in and set a password.
Another answer might just be to set a default password on every new account, and require both password-interactive
and pubkey
auth with ssh
.
What I am trying to achieve is selling shell accounts in bulk to a reseller who does the marketing. This guy would sell accounts by logging in with his key, and his pubkey would literally go in /etc/skel/.ssh/authorized_keys
and he would then be able to log in and enable accounts by setting passwords for his customers.
