Texnicle Typeset Engine specification

Sorry in advance if the question is too simple.
I use Mac OSX High Sierra MacTeX version of Texnicle.
Though I changed the settings:
- xelatex --> pdflatex
- biber --> bibtex
no change is reflected on the actual typeset.
Can anybody tell me what is wrong and how I can fix the issue?
Seems to work fine with TeXShop.

Welcome to TeX.SX! Please help us help you by providing a minimal compilable code example. Some documents will not have obvious differences between XeLaTeX and pdfLaTeX.
