Cleveref: Multiple cross-references of custom theorems

I have run into some trouble with Cleveref. I have defined a new theorem environment, I have labelled two instances of this new theorem, and I would like to cross-reference both of them using the relevant feature of cleveref. Here is a MWE.

documentclass{book}

usepackage{amsthm}
usepackage{cleveref}

newtheorem{mytheorem}{Mytheorem}

begin{document}

begin{mytheorem}
label{a}
something
end{mytheorem}

begin{mytheorem}
label{b}
something else
end{mytheorem}

Recall Cref{a,b}

end{document}

This produces "Recall ?? 1 ?? 2" with a warning "Cref reference format for label type `mytheorem' undefined on input line 22."

Oddly, everything seems to work just fine if I replace

newtheorem{mytheorem}{Mytheorem}

with

newtheorem{theorem}{Theorem}

or some other "standard" theorem name (like Lemma etc.)
