awk output wrapping error

0

I have a huge file of date to format and reorder.
Initially I use a command to select the particular rows

awk '$1>2061 && $1<2070 {print $0}'

2062 SWITCH WHT DECOR 3WY 85673W RKR
2063 SWITCH WHT DECOR SP 5601-2WSP
2064 SWITCH WHT DECOR SP 5611-2WSPLIT
2065 SWITCH WHT DECOR SP 87856712 RKR
2066 SWITCH WHT DIMMER SLIDE S-600PH
2067 SWITCH WHT DPLX SP/3WY R420124WS
2068 SWITCH WHT DPLX SP/SP 1085224 HD
2069 SWITCH WHT DPLX SP/SP 8785224 HD

but the data is in the wrong order... so I use column variables to reorder...

awk '$1>2061 && $1<2077 {print $1, $2, $4, $6, $5, $3}'

2062 SWITCH DECOR 85673W 3WY WHT
2063 SWITCH DECOR 5601-2WSP SP WHT
SP WHTITCH DECOR 5611-2WSPLIT
2065 SWITCH DECOR 87856712 SP WHT
2066 SWITCH DIMMER S-600PH SLIDE WHT
SP/3WY WHT DPLX R420124WS
2068 SWITCH DPLX 1085224 SP/SP WHT
2069 SWITCH DPLX 8785224 SP/SP WHT

To my surprise, awk starts overwriting the first column of the next line with the last value of the current line. but not every time... only sometimes. Can anyone explain what's going on? and how to fix this??
