Is it possible to add colored lines under or over the swaybar?

I'm looking at improving the looks of my future Sway setup and I'd like to add colored lines under each block in the Swaybar because I want to make the bar transparent. However, I only really see underlined bars in the context of Polybar (like here):

enter image description here

Is this possible to do with Swaybar, or only with Polybar? Or is this a function of i3blocks or i3status? Thank you!
