Pokit Authentication Agent (Gnome) doesn't work in certain applications

0

I am using Arch Linux x86_64 with the i3-gaps WM. I have installed polkit-gnome to use as the authentication agent for my user. It works great, except for instances where the application 'knows that it doesn't have superuser privileges but hasn't been told to need superuser privileges so it doesn't ask the authentication agent'. I'll give an example: Thunar, being in a folder where I don't have permission to write in has the 'Create Folder' & 'Create Document' options greyed out, instead of asking for permission to do the actions with the authentication agent. Another example is in the android-studio installer. It will not let me install the SDK to the /opt directory as I don't have write privileges on it so I would need to run the installer with superuser privileges, instead of asking for permission when it wants to. It it possible to do this with the authentication agent? Other than that it works perfectly fine.
