While pressing Alt key on the keyboard the control is transferred to the terminal menu.

There is an option in ubuntu terminal (Edit -> Preferences) to disable this Enable mnemonics (such as alt + f to open the filename)

I'm running Lubuntu 18.10 (LXQT). There is no option to do this via gui settings. I also tried looking at ~/.config/aterminal.org/qterminal.ini still no option to turn on meta key.

How to disable menu while pressing Alt key?

EDIT: One of the answers referred to a file located at ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml. Instead of lubuntu-rc.xml what I have is lxqt-rc.xml and I'm not able to find an entry for my problem.
