Trying to install .sty in latex

I am trying to use the gemini theme for beamerposter. I have referenced the answers in
How can I manually install a package on MiKTeX (Windows)
and created a local package directory (for miktek). I used the root option as well. However, the gemini.sty still cannot be found. I'm sorry if this is a duplicate, but I dont really know what to do.
