Updating MiKTex Distributions

Very short question tonight:
I noticed on my newer computers everything updates nicely with the MiKTex Console. When I trying updating on the older computer purchased in 2015 the MiKTex has issues updating. I probably should reinstall completely. Any advice?

Your question is very unclear! Which version of MiKTex do you want to update? Which issues? Name them please!

@Kurt I think it is outlined here . I need to reinstall completely. The manager is failing when I try to update: miktex.org/kb/mpm2016 . It has been years since I downloaded the distribution and the manager is no longer working. Now MiKTex has a Console that does the updating.

Well, then simply deinstall (as administrotor) the old version, reboot and install new ...

With such an old version you may find issues with uninstall, I hope you don't. But if you do, you may need this link to look at what others had to consider github.com/MiKTeX/miktex/… the strong recommendation is avoid admin install just use a single user version. Personally I would suggest a portable version in a folder such as C:miktex (however some users have expressed concerns over the reduced security that may expose)
