command fialed: operation not supported (-95) while enabling monitor mod
I bought a dongle which are Realtek 8812AU and I'm sure that the dongle could work on monitor mode but after I connected it to my kali Linux on virtual machine and I trying to enabled monitor mode, some error happen.
here is how I enabling monitor mode, I refer to the GitHub steps https://github.com/kimocoder/rtl8812au :
$ airmon-ng check kill
$ sudo ip link set wlan0 down
$ sudo airmon-ng start wlan0
PHY Interface Driver Chipset
phy0 wlan0 8812au Realtek Semiconductor
Corp.RTL8812AU
802.11a/b/g/n/ac
WLAN Adapter
(monitor mode enabled)
Error setting channel: command failed: Operation not supported (-95)
