MIDI - record and playback SysEx data from the command line

0

Does anyone know a tool to record and playback System Exclusive messages from the command line. I know qtraktor can do and probably many other applications with GUI.

I have been able to use arecordmidi to record the data from the command line, but aplaymidi is not able to read it.

          amidi can do the job.

          DESCRIPTION from the man-page:

amidi is a command-line utility which allows one to receive and send SysEx (system exclusive) data from/to external MIDI devices. It can
also send any other MIDI commands.

amidi handles only files containing raw MIDI commands, without timing information. amidi does not support Standard MIDI (.mid) files, but
          aplaymidi(1) and arecordmidi(1) do.
