ubuntu multi gpu issues with display

0

I currently have a desktop with a gtx 750ti gpu with a i7-4790k processor.
I recently bought a second monitor and had it plugged into video card. So one video card was outputting two displays.

However, I recently learned that you are able to enable the integrated graphics to support multi monitor display and divide the work from the video card to the integrated one. Before I did this, my video card would often heat up very quickly and it was quite loud. Now, my video card is not heating up too quickly and my computer is quieter.

However, once I have started to use this feature, ubuntu 18.04 LTS is having issues with this display configuration. I noticed that there are performance issues and when I run games as well, they are not running efficiently as did before. I am still using the nvidia driver on my system but when I am launching a game I play (counter strike: global offense), the game acts like it is running on integrated graphics. I am not having issues on the windows side of things but the ubuntu side of this is acting out. Does anybody have a similar configuration that knows how to fix this?
